Kennebec River White Water Rafting in Maine

TRIP AT A GLANCE
Class of Rapids: III-IV (V)
Minimum Age: 10
Length: 12 miles
River Time: 3-4 hours
Food: river snack, cookout at base

While a few of our Maine neighbors join us for the day, most of our whitewater rafters enjoy a comfortable night's stay in our riverside lodging before a day of rafting. After breakfast (included with rafting and lodging packages) each rafter begins by gearing up into comfortable river gear and listening to safety instruction from the day's trip leader.

After a short ride (shortest of all outfitters), the Kennebec River white water rafting adventure begins at Harris Station Dam and immediately enters a narrow gorge, hundreds of feet deep. Quickly picking up speed, rafts plunge through huge rolling waves and heart-pounding drops run expertly by our professional guides. Legendary Class III and IV rapids such as "Three Sisters" and "Magic Falls" await you at every turn for over 7 miles.

The second part of the Kennebec River trip includes smaller rapids and opportunities to get out and float next to the raft. Water temperatures will top out in the mid-70's in the summer making this fun for everyone. Our Kennebec rafting trip ends where it began, right back at our base—no cold, soggy shuttle ride back to Crab Apple! Walk out of your raft and into a hot shower in your room, hot tub or our swimming pool while your guides prepare a delicious cookout. After lunch we head to our comfortable conference room to view photos and video from your day on the Kennebec.

After whitewater rafting on the Kennebec River, many of our guests stay over for a second night and enjoy relaxing time in our pool, take a walk into Maine's highest waterfall - Moxie Falls, or join the Nightfall Paintball game that begins ever day after rafting.

I brought the CEO of my company and several of his and my family members rafting on the Kennebec…

“What an amazing time we had. The accommodations were wonderful. The pub food and drinks were perfect. One of the nicest, cleanest pools I have seen in the Northeast.

The staff was also wonderful. And I would like to give special thanks to the owners who made us feel like family.

I have been down the river once or twice and I can say our guide, Meagan, knows what she is doing! She can control a raft better than I can park my car. She made the entire party feel safe and comfortable and still showed them excitement all day.”

Noel, Lily and the rest of the crew

My sisters, husband and kids were at your facility on July 26th for our first whitewater experience.

“We were all very impressed with the friendliness and “laid back” professionalism of your staff from the moment I made the reservation, until we left the base after the trip. I couldn’t believe how organized the whole day was and how everybody was so helpful when asking questions. You guys rock!”

Jamie

Crab Apple is certainly the BEST RUN outfit in the northeast...

“You have a top-notch, well-trained excellent friendly crew through your entire operation and your dedication to the Crab Apple tradition shows.”

Denny

We had a wonderful time white water rafting and paintballing with you.

“Its our 25th anniversary and we couldn't have had more fun, great food and accommodations.”
